Default Tire Pressure, I know it's been beat to death

But can anyone shed any light on what my pressures should be? I just put on 4 new 275/40 17 inch Goodyear GSD-3 's. I have heard so many opinions on this subject, I would like some advice from some folks running the same tire as me. Sorry for asking this question again, I know it has been discussed before, but I just couldn't get a straight answer from the search I did! Any help would be appreciated.

I run 32 psi all around on my '88 with a Z52 suspension. I have found that gives me the best handling. By 35 psi the ride starts to get a bit harsh and I start losing some cornering capability.
32 is what the4 General recommends for my car, so i did not want to go lower becasue of concerns of building excess heat and hysteresis.

Have the GS-D3's and like to run 32-34 psi.

I have 285 GS-D3s all around. I used to run 36 psi all the time with GS-Cs on the car, but I find the GS-D3s are much harsher riding at 36+. When I tried them at 30psi they rode OK but people commented about my tires looking soft.

I haven't really settled on a pressure to run full time, but I too find they are more harsh then the GSCs. It seems to me the belts under the tread are stiffer than the GSC tires, and this should make them wear better.

You will still get many opinions on the topic.

I like 35psi up front to keep the outer edges from rounding and a little less out back for better hook up.

In any case rotate front & rear from time to time to help maintain even wear and maximize tire life.

I'd suggest you do a little trial.
Start with 32/32 cold, and do some corners and cloverleafs on the freeway off ramps. See how it feels, responds, and which end seems different. Try it with and without some throttle/ acceleration. Does the front end push, or the rear get loose? Is the ride harsh? Use a full tank of gas. That way it's a compromise between an empty tank, and having a passenger. Take notes.

Then raise the back to 34 or 35. Do the same thing.
Then try 35/35.
Then lower the back to 32, with the front at 34 or 35.

This will take you about an hour. Now you have some semi-reliable data to make your decision with. It ultimately is a matter of feel and your personal preference for under/oversteer at the limit.

I personally would be hesitant to go below 32 if you like high speed driving.
