Default EM header (LT) connections ??

I'm ready to jump into these headers. Has anyone installed them with the little high flow cats and connected to the OEM or B&B catback systems? I'd really like a picture of both sides where they connect the collector of the header to the catback. EM's price for these connection pieces seems a little high. I have a 92 LT1 and a 6 speed. Big thanks in advance.

I asked they said that the extensions will not work with B&B 3" system, you would need to get custom pipes made for header->resonator connection.

I can't answer your question, but I talked to Merle in depth this past week - He's a great guy and willing to go the extra mile for you. Reminded me of Dave from RD. Anyways, my sets on order, and the LTs and hi-flow cats should be to me in the next 2-3 weeks!!!!!!!!!

Mine's connected to a Corsa, so I don't know if that's what you're looking for. I've got pics, though, so let me know if you want 'em.

You have a PM.

Did you have to cut the corsa pipes going to the resonator to allow room for the high flow cats?

You will have to shorten and narrow the pipes going to your resonator. Plus have adapters made to connect the 3" collectors/cats to the 2.5" cat-back pipes. I had Midas make these alterations, they charged around ~$130.

FYI: I slid/clamped the cats on to the header collectors.

Hi Mike,
You could attach the cats directly to the header collector? No bends required? I sure would like to see some pictures of that set up. Thanks

My B&Bs are already 3" going into the resonator.

Doing a EM to B&B connection is a peice of cake. I did my own with some 3" SS tubing:

I moved my cats to the tunnel area as I have a 6 speed which for me made it easier. Some have placed them directly behind the collectors which is also a good place.

The drivers side tube needs to be extended about 6" and the passenger side about 16". I had a local muffler shop swage the ends of the tubing for a tight slip fit over the EM collectors. The other end over the B&B tubes were also a slip fit which once in place are welded. The CATs are slip fit to the B&B tubing and just clamped using band clamps.

Would that setup work on an auto? Looks like the cats would hit the tranny. I still haven't heard about a true dual setup with cats on on auto without problems.

Any body know if performance-wise it is best to mount the cats close to the header collector or closer to the resonator?

My guess is collector but I wonder what others think/have tested/tried.

The cats are placed behind the tranny. I have the EM longtubes, RT cats and 3" B&B.

Nice! So no resonator then? Looks like that is a vert with the factory x-brace in there too?

It's a '93 vert and yes I have the resonator, I just don't have a picture that shows the entire setup.
