Default Slow power-windows

Hi
I've got a problem with my power windows, the took about a minute to close, the more they are up, the slower they move. What can cause that?
The same to the air conditioning; compared to my last vette (87) has my 86 much less power. On stage 10 it feels like stage 5 on the 87.

I've got a slow driver's side window too, so if there's a easy fix, I'd like to know about it too.

84-85 and early 86 have a ribbon style window regulator. You need to upgrade to a late 86 to 96 style regulator. If you go back about a week or so there is a link to a great write up on how to do the change. Or go to the top of the page, click on "other" and then click on tech and look down the list until you find the link.

I did finished a search trying to find the link, but no good. Do you have the title of the Tech article and anything else that might point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Jake

You're right, it's gone. I'll check tomorrow, I have it copied out in my garage. I'll get the info and get back to you.

If anything there isn't clear or doesnt make sense, let me know and i'll revise it. I wrote it all after the fact when replacing mine, so its possible its not all there.

As posted above, the first couple years of C-4's were plagued with this problem. I can remember when my 85 was new, taking it back to the dealer and asking about the slow windows. Some of the vette magazines even wrote about it. As others have suggested, going to a later regulator may be the only solution. Lubing the tracks with paraffin or bar soap may help some.
