Hurst Shifter Opinions
To those who have the hurst shifter in their 6speed C4 can you give me some feedback
Rexruby and I are thinking about installing one in our cars and from what we know the install is a B*TCH.
Is it worth the trouble of the install? He does have a lift so that may make it somewhat easier
I don't drive my car that often but I took it out on Sunday and I felt like I was driving a truck compared to my z06 with the hurst.

I think it is a very worthwhile mod. I love the way mine feels with the hurst. It will be easier on a lift I think and even more so if you go ahead and drop the exhaust. Some say you don't have to but for about 30 min that it took, I think its best to just get it out of the way.

Love mine, started to do it myself, but ended up at my mechanic for him to finish. On my back under the car in the south Florida summer got the best of me. Once mine was installed, I took a hack saw and cut about 3/4 of inch off the top of the stick to shorten it even a little more. Would definitly do it again.

just fitted mine but it was real easy cos the engine + gearbox are out at the min so I can fit lots of goodies ,
only thing I had to do on mine was remove some of the powder coating from the sides of the shifter where it fits between the cradle so it mooves freely. cant wait to get her back together , good luck with your install you wont regret it

I did mine on jack stands, it was fairly easy with 2 of us. One under the car and one inside...We did drop the exhaust. The actual shift replacement took only about an hour.
I like it over the stock shifter, but if I used my car as a daily driver, I would of keep the stock shifter.

Well the acutally process took a hour, once u get to it... I guess the whole job took about 2 hours and i consider myself very quick and it was worth it, it has been in for about 1 month and I love it....shifts alot better and more solid and got rid of the dumb reverse lockout
