What tranny in '91?
What is the transmission in a '91 L98 Auto? Some books I have suggest a 700R4, but another one says 4L60E or something like that. Are they the same or is it a typo or.... ? Thanks.

700r4 is its official name in 91.
A 4L60 is the same thing, 4L60E requires a different computer.

GM changed the name only because they were standardizing the naming system, not to bother us.
