Default ECM Help

Hello everyone, I'm new to Corvettes and this site but not to EFI and prom burning. I put a SD TPI in my s-10 7 years and 120k miles ago and I know it well. I just bought my first Corvette, a 1986 with no motor and a harness that has some missing wires. Here's my plan, please tell me if I'm on the right track. I want to convert to SD because I know it and have a laptop and a prom burner. (and dont want to spend the money for the MAF parts) I also have a new 355 vortec motor in my garage, Ballanced, Summit engine kit in it, GM hotcam, heads have been machined for bigger valve springs and higher lift. I modified an Lt4 intake to fit the vortec bolt patern and the other mods from lt1 intake.com website.

Can I use a 7730 ecm, get the wiring harness from a SD v6 Camero (cheap and easy to find) use the ecm connectors and whatever extra wires I need from the v6 harness. And using the diagram from my 91 Camero TPI factory service manual? I also have access to a 87 corvette factory service manual, is it the same as the 86? And last, which memcal do I need? Are all 7730 350 memcals the same except for the bin? Thanks for the help.

FYI

There was quite a bit of traffic on this board a couple of years ago re 165 -> 730 conversions. Do
a search here on "730" or "730 club" for details of the swap. There are some minor differences
between Camaro & Corvette ECM pinouts, including a pin for the Oil TS & whether some switches
are NO or NC. Nothing too major, IIRC. Seems to me there is also quite a bit of descriptive swap
info on the TGO prom board too.

The 165 memcals use a 128K prom; 730 memcals are set up for 256K.

To be on the safe side (with the resistor array) I'd get a CalPac that matches the mask you plan
to run - then there will be no surprises WRT 'limp home' operation.

If it's a daily-driver, I'm not a big fan of the HotCam.
