Default $6E update for 86 memcal...

How can I find out if I have the $6E prom for my 86? I can't datalog at 8192, only 160 mode. What exactly do I need to upgrade to the $6E so I can datalog in 8192 mode? Thanks!

The only way I can do it is to read your prom and try to open it with a $6E definition. If TC tells me its a 32 then we know otherwise

How do you read the chip? Does chip have to come out of car?

I have to have the prom, plug it into my prom programmer and read it. Then I attempt to open the file with my Tuner Cat program with the $6E or the $32 definition files. One or the other would open it, if its wrong I get a warning message from the software. If you need, you can send it to me with prepaid return postage and I will read it and let you know what you have, and return it. I can do this on the same day as I receive it, and of course this would be done as a courtesy to a fellow forum member
