How do I find out if my ALDL port is working?

Anyway to find out if my ALDL port is working properly?

Stick a paper clip into the top right hand two ports (A&B terminals), then turn on the ignition key but don't start the engine. If the fan comes on and the SES light begins to blink, it's working.

If you have a ScanTool or Diacom, etc., that will tell you also.

Diacom will not connect to my car for some reason. It will read the codes (flash SES light) and turn on the fans, but won't connect.

Any idea's?

I just solved my delimma.
