Tried out Datamaster software tonight my car never went into closed loop?
Anybody have the requirements for closed loop handy? I have an electric water pump, 160 deg tstat, ambient temp was 50 deg and I don't think I ever saw a coolant temp >180 until I turned the A/C on. I think the coolant temp has to be hotter than that for closed loop right?
Next question, I kept getting a "Lost COM" error - anyone had that happen?

My car goes closed around 140. I run a 160 stat with no problems going into closed loop.
I use datamaster also
Maybe a glitch :smash:

Your link to the ALDL obviously was not communicating with your laptop. I don't know about the Datamaster interface, but does it need a 12v supply? sometimes I've seen the lighter plug get loose on not positioned properly, and I've lost the "comm" to my Ease PC Scan Tool.
If you were basing your comment on the car staying in open loop based on that, I would discount that info until you can verify that you have a solid link to your laptop program.

Most EE calibrations require about 92 degrees of coolant temp before going into closed loop. However the PCM may not allow closed loop until it sees the O2 sensor bounce above 450mV and then go below 450mV once it sees that and the minimum coolant temp it should go into closed loop.

I've had a link up long enough to really study the data. I do have headers by the way?
I am almost positive my left O2 is toast because I had a left O2 code and also the left O2 millivolts are not even changing so it's not coming up to temp. I'm gonna put in a new O2 sensor and see if that fixes it.
I think the Lost COM error is resolvable once I get a chance to talk to the Datamaster folks. There manual mentions having problems with Vettes that have CCM issues, which mine does since it's been converted to OBD-I
