Pretty much old news but there are a lot of truth to it as well. As we all know if the so called "tuner Expert" doesn't do his job right in writing a new program or if a novice tuner gets into a PCM I can see "burning" down an engine easily. With a few key strokes I know I could "fry" your tranny or put enough timing into the maps and by disabling the knock retard parameters I could "melt" your engine down. But knowing what not to do and what the limitations are I wouldn't ever do that. But a I can see a novice doing it in the name of performance.
