Default 85 chip flash

So I've been reading about reflashing my computer in my 85. im not entirely comfortable doing it. however i would be willing to send it to someone with a nominal payment for them to assist me. any and all help will be appreciated. thanks

85 uses the 2732k that can only be erased using ultraviolet light. www.moates.net provides a service where they solder in an adapter that allows the use of an electronically erasable chip. You may find some that use this old method, and good luck to you to you sir.

Agreed. Don't erase your original chip, just install a socket in it's place filled with a new EEPROM.

Alternatively, I skipped chips altogether and went with a RT emulator (Ostrich). It has been in the car for a number of years now, no issues, and I can retune at any time without even shutting the engine off
