Default scan with a pin?

I was looking for a obd1 scanner that can scan all those type of cars but I don't think they make them? Anyway can someone tell me how to use the paper clip method and please be specific. Which hole? Which side? How long I hold it? How do you count the flashes? It just seems complicated. Feel free to pm me.

Default Scan Tool

O'Rielly sells a jumper for both engine and antilock brakes for about $2.50. It works real well.
