Default rebuild, need tune to run?

I just rebuilt my motor and made it a 383 stroker. Obviously with that came a larger camshaft. While in there we deleted the smog, EGR and AC. Is this going to require a tune to run properly?

I'm new to the tuning world and have found nobody that does '85 tuning. It's all mail order starting at MY 1986. Doing it myself is not an option as I don't have the time right now due to a busy work schedule.

Does anybody know anyone in the NC area that would be willing to do this or if it even needs to be done? I was looking at swapping out the PCM for a 1986 but again, I don't have the time to learn and do that. I would be willing to bring the car to anyone capable of doing this.

Sorry for the confusion just really new to this side of it all.

Yes there is a guy I use, I will PM you his information. You will definitely need a tune and a few things to support your computer.

The reason being the '85 ECM is so slow for tuning purposes that most upgrade to a later ECM which has much better ( as you found out ) support from the aftermarket and tuners

"1226870 '85 ECM
One major problem when tuning an EPROM for this ECM is that the diagnostic data (ALDL) is transmitted at only 160 BAUD!. This works out
to about a 1.25 second interval between the 25 Bytes of data.I have only been able to get about 6 to 8 data samples during a 1/4 Strip run
which you can imagine does not provide much feedback for tuning.
The ECM used in 1986-1989 TPI is a 1227165 The ALDL data rate in this model can supply diagnostic data at 8192 BAUD.
The data stream of 64 Bytes cycles through every 62.5 milliseconds (16 per second) at this BAUD rate. "
