Let me pass along some advice that was given to me a couple of months ago.
If you have a laptop, I encourage you to look at www.moates.net. For about the same cost as a decent chip, you can get everything you need to do it yourself. Best of all, next time you make a change, you can plug in your laptop and change it for no cost!
What you need is an Ostrich, ribbon cable, daughter-board, USB cable to go from the PC to the Ostrich, TunerCat with the proper bin file and XDF or TDF file for you ECM. You then disconnect the battery, remove the 3 10mm nuts to free up your ECM, flip it over, remove the four torex screws to the access plate, remove the Limp Home chip, plug the chip into the daughter board, plug the ribbon cable into the daughter board, button up the ECM, Velcro the Ostrich to your ECM, plug the pc cable into the Ostrich and laptop, reconnect battery, load up the TunerCat software, open the initial BIN file and down load it to the Ostrich and start making your tweaks (one at a time). All this stuff is available from Moates. There is lots of information (too much as a mater of fact) on the ThirdGen web site and some good stuff here. If you ask questions the experts that have done it for your year seem to be good about chiming in and helping us newbies out.
You will then want to get some data logging software. TunerPro is free, but you will need a ALDL cable for your laptop.
All in all, for the price you would spend on one Dyno session, you can get all this goodness and be self sufficient.
Thanks they refered me to someone that will do it.If I planned to keep the car.I would spend to 400.00 and do it my self,over and over.I went to a class holley gave five years ago on tuning.I know what needs to be done.I really need to do this myself,So I can may tune my c-5.I would hate to buy the stuff and can't get it right
