Default occasional miss w/94 LT1

I've cleaned the maf, has new msd wires as well as a newer fuel filter, but I have an intermittent miss or hesitation when giving the motor hard acceleration. Could this be the ignition mod, coil, or hopefully not the opti? The car starts right up, and has 50k on it and babied. Thanks for any feedback.

Check out the TPS to make sure there are no dead spots or rough areas in resistance or voltage depending on how you want to check it.

Also check the coil wire where it goes thru the w-pump on the way to the opti. Look at it in the dark and rev the engine. See if the insulation is breaking down.

The guy I bought my car from had a lot of work done with a new opti-spark and new wires. It still sometimes missed at 5500 rpm or so...guess what?...still had 15 year old spark plugs. It's 5 years or 100k mile tune up, not 100k and 15 years...doh.

Thats what I had on my 94 LT1. Hesitation and miss got worse, no codes.
I did fuel pump, wires and sparkplugs, still missed.
New opti and coil solved my problem.

What if the miss is in lower RPMs? Like under 2k..........not high in the rpm range.

I would say its a spark issue but not sure.

sounds opti-ish to me. That's what my symptoms were.

You might try putting this in the Tech support thread to broaden your
informed replies. To me, it sounds like it could be a bad connection to one of the wires. Good luck.

Default Occasional miss

Had the same problem with 92 LT1. When hot, would hot would also miss at idle. Did plugs and wires and finally replaced the coil and solved it.
