I don't understand how to get to these bolts to remove the rear bumper.
So I'm removing the rear bumper off my corvette [project car] to put another one I have, but I don't know how to remove it completely
I removed the 4 or 5 bolts along the side of the wheels but these I do not have the slightest clue how to reach. Can anyone help? I've included a picture to give you an idea of which one's I'm talking about.
thanks for any help in advanced.
That will only remove the tail lights. Their are many much harder bolts to remove the rear bumper.
I had to remove the bumper on my 91 to fix the right rear pannel. I worked for about 2hrs doing everything I can to get to them with no luck. I removed all the taillights, the gaas lid, tag plate etc and The ONLY way to reach all the bolts is to drop the gas tank, and climb up in where the tank was. My advice, remove the tank
and wait 24hrs before you remove the bumper. I did not wait and just about passed out from the gas fumes.

I'll keep this info stored away, good to know stuff!

You did it wrong. You can remove the rear bumper with out dropping the tank. You access everything from underneath or through the license plate are or tail lamps.

I was not able to on my 91. I tired everything. I removed the spare, droped the exhaust, and was able to get to 60% of them. Then I removed the taillights, and the gas lid and boot. And could get to the top 2-3 bolts.
I was using stubby ratchet wrenches, 1/4" U-joints, and flex head wrenches. I could not do it.
On the 91 it was easy after I dropped the tank.
step 1: Drop the exhaust
2: remove the spare
3: remove the gas lid
4: remove the tail lights and tag lights. (its easer to remove the bulb wires from the outside)
5: remove bumper.
Its more work, but it saves time in the long run, It also made it easer to go back on.
