Thank you for posting the sad news of Bruce Plecan's passing and the
link to the thread of condolences and reminisces.

I knew of him. The thread helped me learn a bit more about him.

It helps to think that he may have had a sense of how his tireless
contributions reached out to so many motorsports enthusiasists.

He has left quite a legacy. Part of a post by slowolej sums it up well:

I've heard plenty of bitching in my life, but I rarely heard Bruce wasting
time complaining about his situation. Kind of amazing considering he had
to do a helluva lot more than most of us just to stay alive. I think he
made some medical journals by living as long as he did. I know he made
some articles just by surviving the transplant surgery. Yet he never
asked for sympathy or wanted to be a "special case" because of his
health. I've found over the years that it's much easier for me to have a
good day if I occasionally stop and remind myself there's people like
Bruce who have to go through a lot more to do a lot less. Bruce is one
of the ones who managed to do more despite the hand life gave him.
Perhaps the most lasting tribute to Bruce Plecan is to try to adopt a bit
of his approach to life and his way of helping the people around him.

I just finished reading a couple of his papers today. He really shared his knowledge.
