Default Converting 7165 to 7727 or 7730 ECM

I have a 1986 vette with the 7165 computer mounted behind the passanger dash pad and I want to convert to to the 1990 Speed density computer. My main question is do I need purchase the 7730 camero computer or the 7727 vette computer to accomplish this task. I still want to mount the new computer in the original computer location, behind the dash pad.

Thanks

try finding a post by ski_dwn_it, I think he has a plug and play for converting a MAF to SD for sale.

You will want the 7730. The 7727 is the weatherpak version that is made to mount under the hood.

Either ECM will work, different connectors as the 7727 is weatherpack for under hood mounting as tjwong mentioned. Its a bit larger too. If you plan on mounting this in the same location then get the 7730.

We did a 85 vette a few years back I think we got a pigtail from Dan White in Michigan. I would check with Jesse first, He is still spending a lot of time on the GM OEM ECM's
