Default Diacom???'s

I have not used Diacom in a good while, I have a no start problem going on with my 89. Already replaced the fuel pump, plugs, and fuel filter, now there is a problem with one or more injectors as to leaking. Next on list is to replace them. I am trying to see if Diacom will help out with checking anything else that might cause this problem. The car will start if I spray starter fluid into the TB but it runs horrible this way but it stays running. Any ideas would be helpful..

TIA

Brett

All have already been replaced. I just find it hard to believe the injectors alone could cause this?

Brett: Check you injectors (remove harness connector) with an ohm meter. All injectors should be very close to the same reading and be somewhere in the 16 to 17 ohms. Check 'em cold and hot ..... if the engine will run that long The 89 model seems to have a lot of injector issues with the stock units. The coils short out and this will not place a fault in your ECM. I learned all this the hard way on my 89.

If your injectors are leaking, it will flod the engine... my 90 had this problem and had to wait about 45 minutes if it did not start right away... it also back fired when decelerating. Issue was resolved after injectors were replaced.

Might not be yor problem but it will act like a flooding situation if they are leakign bad.. but should eventually start.

It seems to me that if the car will run with starting fluid that your ignition may be fine. You also say that you replaced the fuel filter/pump, but do you know what your fuel pressure is? Is the pump running? If the pump isn't running or you don't build pressure with the key on, then maybe it is your fuel pump relay or ECU. Just another thought. Good luck!
