Hey Guys,

After a year of absolutely no problems with my '89 beauty, when I go to crank her up the starter spins WAY too long before she fires up and she clears her throat. LOTSA raw gas pumping out the pipes, not sure why. Sure would appreciate a clue before I have to take her to the doctor. Thanx in advance!!

Take the vaccum line off the regulator and smell it for gas. It is common for them to fail and cause long starts like you describe.

Thanks Alvin!!!!!

You were right on the money!!! The intake plenum was full of raw gas when I removed it to replace the regulator diaphram. $65 and a couple of hours later and shes purrin' again. Thanks a ton!!!!!!!!!

Gratefull Bob
