Free slightly damaged 3" SLP LT1 Exhaust
Here is the deal, when i purchased the car this exhaust was on the car and i was told it was made by SLP. It sounds really good, deep but not obnoxious. Pipes merge into one resonator then out to two mufflers. The problem is the resonator, one of the welds has started to crack and the system buzzes and vibrates so loud it can be heard very loud in the car and even louder outside. My friend told me i sounded like a ricerocket motorcycle driving down the street its that bad. I took the system off and brought it my local muffler shop. Immediatly he noticed the cracked weld, which i had not and he said it is probably worse inside. He offered to cut out the resonator and replace it with either an X-pipe, straight pipes or some type of h-pipe. I decided to go with a new exhaust so i am offering this slightly damaged system for free to anyone who wants to pick it up. The resonator has to be replaced with something but i don't think this would cost much 150 - 100  . Oh and one of the pipes going from the cat to the resonator was beat up pretty bad with a hammer, its the short section of pipe and could easily be replaced by a muffler shop. E-mail Chefskeez6@aol.com
Once again FREE to anyone who wants to pick up, will not ship.
Oh and a quick question for anyone who might know, does SLP have some kind of warranty i could take advantage of?
I will get an estimate from my local exhaust place to find out about how much it would cost to fix the system.

Would you be willing to ship the mufflers?
EDIT: Shipping is around $15.00 for one muffler.

SLP is pretty much out of the C4 business.
That's a nice exhaust, if I had the time, I would take you up on it, but somebody closer I guess will get it.

The problem with shipping only the mufflers is the system is kind of welded together, i suppose i could cut the mufflers out but i would rather not.

call SLP !!!
I have an SLP exhaust on my F-body, and I know it came with a lifetime warrenty. probably to the origanal buyer only. so lie alittle bit.
I'm a believer of running the original C4 exhaust until it rusts away, and falls off. Then I'll replace it :D

Re: Free slightly damaged 3" SLP LT1 Exhaust (Chefskeez6)
OK a little update, i just chekced out the SLP website and i found this under the warranty.
* Limited Lifetime Warranty for Headers, Exhaust, and Cold-Air Systems
Headers and exhaust components are warranted for life against rust, corrosion, failed welds, cracks, and similar defects under normal use. Failure of coatings is not covered. Damage caused by excessive heat (from lean combustion or use of "heat wraps"), flood, collision, modification, or road hazard IS NOT COVERED. All other aforenoted exclusions apply. Product must be returned, freight prepaid, to SLP Performance Parts in Toms River, N.J. for evaluation. After evaluation SLP Performance Parts will, at its discretion, repair or replace the part. In the case of headers, only the affected part will be repaired or replaced.
So i think someone could have the resonator replaced for FREE, call them and find out. The previous owner of my car was given this exhaust for free because they thought it was a little too loud. Oh and if someone felt that they might want give something in return Michelob light is pretty tasty, j/k...well maybe only half kidding.

I believe the warranty only applies to the original buyer, but I could be wrong.

Re: Free slightly damaged 3" SLP LT1 Exhaust (Mr Mojo)
I just went back and reread, and i think Mr Mojo is right but it is still easily fixable and would probably perform better with an X-pipe.
