FS 86 L98 - 40K actual miles- complete!
Parting out excellent condition 1986 Corvette Engine- complete with headers, all sensors, modules, computer, hoses, emissions- all, etc. Vehicle is all actual, like new - going to be restored with a new engine, so anything you need from this engine you can have. Still in vehicle, will remove for a fee, or we can take the vehicle to a service center and have it removed. I want the engine to be as new to you, as we leave the engine bay for my new engine. $4999-OBO- no lowballs! .
Headers were the only upgrade with a full new exhaust in the last
30 years to this vehicle, It has been garage kept, doesn't burn any oil and still starts instantly. Its just old and the glue is coming apart and the stuff is dry rotted, so the wife wont drive it without a complete refresh.

you want 5K for the engine?
each part needs to be individually listed with a price per forum guidelines

I am not parting it out- the entire engine and everything goes, right down to the headers.
I will unplug the wiring harness and hoses and the rest goes! if the buyer wants the evap canister, or other emissions stuff, they are welcome to them, but its a one item complete purchase.

I am just guessing here but 5k for 30yr old engine is a little steep? Plus have the fee of removing it wow buy complete cars running and decent shape for that money sorry to crap but WOW!!!

Ebay has engine and transmission on sale below 2K... and not just one, a few. They have more miles but still, 5K will be tough to get for just the engine.

Thanks for all the input guys- who I assume all have running engines, so really have no need to be posting at all right? remember Mom said you have nothing nice to say, and ?? when you go, sorry to crap, or it has more miles but still, you totally lose any credibility in your comparison. Next thing I am going to see is a post for a new car, guess what, that's only 600.00 a month? why even bother with the engine?
here is the point- no one has this for sale - 40K actual miles- complete with computer, emisssions, hoses, headers, mounts, everything you need or could want. Quoting me prices of ebay engines with God knows what is wrong with them or 75K miles is just silly and you know it. I spent the time to list out every single piece myself, which is over 100+ items based on Forum prices and it came back at 6K. So thanks for your input, I am happy with my price, OBO, I don't need any input or suggestions. Someone who wants a drop in replacement with no headaches or someone who crashed their front end and lost their emissions stuff and fried the ECM or whatever will be happy making me an offer and find themselves with a great engine setup. Take care, thanks for stopping.

Cool link- 3K nice engine, now if we could only add everything from the emissions to the intake and exhaust systems, ECU, and everything else that is included, and of course back off the 40K miles, you are right where I priced this! great work dude.

Thank you JV, that's what I was thinking, I put OBO on the darn thing- its not like any thing else in this world, you put a TV on Craigslist for 200.00 and some kid offers you 50.00 - good thing I didn't start at 50.00 huh? it takes same amount of effort to be positive and helpful as it does to be a prune :P

Not really wanting to poo poo on the logic here but, if someone needs an engine for their car they are likely going to have all of the accessories already and aren't going to buy parts they don't need.

I know guys, I will list it as did fire burn up your engine bay? did you get in a front end wreck? if so, I got the plan for you- or wait, do you have an engine with 200K miles on it, meaning EVERYTHING in your car has 200K miles on it, well , I got one for you with 40K miles on everything you need to transfer over, I just want to be left with a clean engine bay, and don't forget, it OBO, for those of you who have to feel like a man and cut my price in half to start negotiations, we will still be at a reasonable number.
If that will stop all the hating, let me know, this is becoming such a joke its ridiculous.

I'd buy a zz4 before that, better heads & cam.

Sorry that you feel hated but I was just offering practical advice. Maybe something you didnt consider. I do hope you get 5k though. If you do Ill sell my 30 year old 50k motor for slightly less and go LS1. Something tells me that neither will happen though.

What is ridiculous is you not getting the point that your setup isn't worth near what you are asking I am sorry if that chaps your **** but that is reality. If you were asking 1000-1500 and it about of car ready to be picked up that would be a reasonable deal! For you and the buyer
GLWS by the way!

geez guys either buy it or don't. I didn't see anywhere where the original poster asked for opinions on anything. His motor for 5k is closer to being worth 5k then your opinion is to being worth 5 cents.

I think the issue is he is selling this on a corvette forum so you are going to get comments that people feel are helpful both to the seller and potential buyers.
