If this helps, in 89 the radiators were laid back a bit vs the 885-88 radiators being straight upward. This causes the AC lines to be relocated a bit as well. There's an indentation in the hood skeleton for this unit. An 88 hood won't work on an 89-96 if that AC line assembly is in place. Hope this helps.

Hi Jeff. The 89 hood does work with the LT5 setup, which has the radiator slanted backwards. This leads to more dialogue to help the seller sell his hood. Interesting.
MAYBE...the 89 LT5 cars had a different hood frame which changed to the 90-96 hood frame design? I don't have a part number list to cross reference.
