I'm tired of my revvy engine on long road trips. I don't race my '89 Vette with factory Dana44 with 3.33 gears, so I'm wanting some better gas mileage. If you have the will and know-how, you can swap out the rears in exchange. A Dana36 will be OK for me. This is my daily driver, and the only car I own. If you want to drive your Vette to Conway Arkansas to do the swap, I have a brother with a big enough shop to have both cars on jacks for the swap. Hi Steve,
I just swapped out my stock Dana 36 2.59 for a 3.07 that I got through this forum. Now my original one is just sitting in the corner of my garage. It has about 88K miles on it, has never made any noises or given me any worries. Let me know if you are intrested.
