I tore into my car to fix an oil leak, at the same time I converted to a Pete Jackson gear drive with the newer style opti. When I originally installed the Hot Cam I had just tapped the drive pin down to the proper length as instructed by GM. Now I can't make it move, so I had to get a new cam. What this means is that anybody with a 94 or older has an opportunity for a great deal.

The hot cam is a great performer, in my car the hot cam with 1.6 RR's made 313.3 rear wheel horsepower and 313 pounds of torque, that's a 44 hp and 12 pound of torque increase over stock, still fully emissions legal. With long tube headers those numbers are now up to 336 & 345 respectively. 1/4 mile times are down into the high 12's with trap speeds of 112 mph. Given a more consistent driver it could easily hit mid 12's

This cam only has about 12,000 miles on it, run with mobil 1 oil. It's as clean as it was when I put it in the car and there are no signs of wear. I can take digital pictures for anybody interested.

Hammer, I'm going with another Hot Cam, a friend of mine was building a motor with a Hot Cam, but he wasn't actually going to need it for another week or two, so I've got plenty of time to get him another one.

I have a "mock" LT4 hot cam. It has the same specs as a hot cam, but you will get .525 lift with 1.5 rockers. This is a custom grind by Schnieder. It will not work with the new style opti unless you drill a big hole in the front of the cam. Let me know if interested. Cam has 10,000 miles. I also have springs to go with it.

I almost forgot I opened my big mouth about the cam. Anyway, I am not sure exactely what you would like to know, but I'll tell you what I do know. I would like to get $200.00 + shipping for the cam, springs, locks and retainers. I took this out of my 92 LT-1. I did not re-use this cam because it has no provisions for the shaft of the newer style opti's. (I converted) I didn't want to mess with it and it gave me an excuse to buy a bigger cam. The cam specs are 218/228 and 525/525 with 1.5 rollers and the cam has a "stepped" nose. I do not know what the springs are but they are 1.25" with an inner damper. I highly doubt they stock, because they (stock) generally won't except lift over .500. If you are in doubt I could take them down and have them tested. I never had a problem with them up to 6500rpm. If you need to know more, ask me specific questions and I will do my best to answer them.

Wil that hot cam replica work on my L98 block?

I believe that the LT-1 cams will work in an L-98. I am not 100% sure though. I think that it will fit any of the late model engines. (LS-1 excluded). If you ask around, someone should know for sure.
