I'm going to replace my EGR valve and thought it would make sense to replace the EGR solenoid too.
Can't find the EGR SOLENOID anywhere (prefer new).
Tips/advice???
Thanks.

I'm hunting for one for my '87 too ... GM part no 1997101 or BWD # EGR 295 ... I'll let you know if I turn up a source ... I'll take a good used one at this point . Mine dissappeared during the latest session of intake removal.

Went into the Local NAPA store this morning and heard from the friendly clerk:
"YEAH, WE HAVE THIS PART NUMBER BUT I AM TELLING YOU NOW, NO NAPA STORE IN THE WORLD HAS THIS PART".
Great - this looks to be truly obsolete
Now what???

Jeff,
This came EXACTLY off the NAPA website for an '84 Vette - the ONLY place that lists it even though they don't carry it:
http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50012+2012030
This is the SOLENOID, not the EGR valve.
So you tend to differ from NAPA????????

I've got one for a '93 and it may work. On stuff like that GM didn't change electrical parts designs too often.
Just the same; try CARQUEST for a new one. They have had a lot of stuff which I've needed for my '93 coupe. That includes electric cooling fan motors, and of all things,
the double-rib-sided serpentine belt that the '92/early '93 uses as well as the plastic pulley for the PS pump! Good Luck,
Jack
