Why do these things cost so much? I mean, come on, it's two pieces of plastic. I would never pay $475 for those things, that's completely retarded. $150 is way better, but still seems a little high for 2 pieces of plastic.

Flares
I have imported a lot of corvettes from Japan to Australia and many of these cars were fitted with GS flares . I can easily pull a mold from them but I have never seen the flare extensions , if any of you guys have any I will buy a set from you ( extensions only as I have the real flares ). Now just out of general interest ....In Japan these GS flares are also made from a soft rubbery compound and the Japs like to fit them on the front as well with big rubber all round ..these look real cool . Will you be tracking the real car?
Sorry for OTness, I have a set of flares that I paid more than 150 for so I would be buyer otherwise. FYI to potential buyers, these flares on early cars allow a 12.5" rear wheel!!
Turbopezz, that's unreal, there was a month span where I saw them on ebay going for 400-600.

Damn, ever since I saw what SCCA Vette did I have been SOOO tempted to do the same. I have always loved those cars.

I'll be able to drive the street version and have fun with it daily, even though it won't have door panels, two seats or carpet. It will have an identical cage like the one in the real car. It should be done before Carlisle. I'm taking "it" there just so I have a car at the Reunion that runs.
I'll build the real car over the Winter.

Also need double sided tape. I am not putting screws thru the body. Please hurry and get them on the market. Since I saw the thread, I am starting to become impatient due to the excitment of getting some flares at a cheap price.

Like all the other people here, I too would like thse, but think that $500 is absurd. I'll keep an eye on this thread for updates; be sure to let it be known once you start taking orders!
