WTB GM Part# 7843689 Column Housing
The tilt mechanism on my '88 Vette steering column is broken. I'm told I need GM Part# 7843689 -- Column Housing, but that part is no longer available. If I can't find the part, I'll consider an entire column. I have to believe that GM used that part in other vehicles. Does anyone know how I can find that information?

Interchange info shows 86-88 to be the same(complete assembly) No doubt the difference in the 85 back being the VATS deal that probably doesn't affect the housing. And it wouldn't surprise me if the 89-90 part would work as well. This WILL be a Corvette specific part though.

I have an entire steering column out of an 88 if you are interested. Tilt and telescope are both fine. No slop in column. Does not include steering wheel. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks for the help from everyone. With any luck I'll have the Vette back on the road soon. And no, I don't store it for the winter. I just don't drive in snow if I can help it.
