Default Whats the C4 vs. C5 Thing?

I'm new to Corvettes, and I've only been in here a few weeks, and I'm enjoying it, but I'm getting a "vibe" that alot of C4 owners aren't liking C5's all that much. (or is it C5 owners??LOL) Just wonderin', thats all....

IMHO, based on a lot of silly (often incorrect) stereotypes coming from both sides...

Never got used to the billboard size "advertize here" space on the rear. Not into the European styling for a American sports car.

I have driven them and when you're in it they feel big and when you look out over the hood you don't see corvette humps like on the c4 (even tho c4's a tons smaller than c3's). They just don't do it for me they're to far away from a lot of traditional corvette features. The c6 is evern further off but I like it over the c5 much much more.

I bought a brand new 1999 Pewter Corvette and thought I would never sell it ever....until I drove it for 6 months and found myself looking at the C4's going by and missing my prior two Vettes terribly! ( a 1986 and a 1994) I eventually sold it and replaced it with a C-4 It had way too many manners for me, the C-4 really gives you the feeling of being in a race car as the C-5 reminds you of being in a Lincoln Town car.
I do believe that when a new model comes out and the automotive press goes nuts over the "improvements" over prior models, that it creates a certain tension between the old and the new models.

go read some of the C5/C6 threads in C6 general, the C5 guys are saying it about the C6 and the C6 guys are a little sensitive...

Something about the C4 that just makes it the one for me. I will probably buy a C5 for the wife. She really likes them. I get along fine with the C5 guys, especially since we all know that the C4 is the best.

These type threads usually get out of control, so I'm nipping it in teh bud.

But what the above have said pretty much sums it up.

BTW, C4's rule!
