Never had a car towed. Any car. Ever.
I practice perventive maintenance. New cars get inspected and all fluids changed, new tires, battery, belts, hoses, charging system checked out, trans condition checked out, brakes in spected, tool box in the car, and last but not least ductape.

Its easier to fix it before it breaks.

none yet for the vette, I dont think I've driven it enough though ... I like to go by '3 strikes and it's out' rule. My daily driver cavalier has been towed twice (alternator, OD solenoid). Once more and its junked...

Twice

#1 when I rear ended a guy 3 or 4 months after my perfect repaint

#2 when I rolled into a forum GTG spewing coolant and steam from a TB hose

3 times for my 85, which is probably about average for a car this age.

1 tow to my brother's garage for a leaking intake, (oil was full of water.)
1 for a dead fuel pump on hwy 101
1 for a blown out tire on hwy 101

There's got to be some poor sap out there with a few dozen under their belt... let's hear it.
You need to stay off hwy 101...........twice for me first a clutch cylinder then gas problems.

Just once with an opti that died on a cruise. I may have caused the problem earlier detailing under the hood. Live and learn, but don't give up on the Vette.

Twice, but never prior to hitting 160,000 miles, so I'm not complaining.

One time. The fan stopped while on the interstate and it overheated at the first stop light. It blew the side out of the radiator.

Never been towed and that includes many, many trips to and from the track. I have to admit, though, that recently I've been considering buying a trailer for towing back and forth to the track. I just have an erie feeling that my luck is running out with breakage at the track.

Hey, I'm not going to say a word....I don't want to jinx myself or my car. Let's just say we're doing Ok.

1.) The 85 was towed home from the accident
2.) Towed to the shop after the accident
3.) The 87 was towed over to the exhaust shop. I ALMOST drove it over with open headers, but at 6am, I KNOW I woulda gotten caught.

Some things go with no warning though. Blowouts and dead fuel pumps fit into this category well.
