LT1 swap to early C4
I've got two LT1 engines that I plan on making into 383 strokers.I know I can make it work in my 86,but my question is will I be able to still use mt digi dash.I really don't want to have to make a custom cluster.

I say they will work just fine. Don't change out the computer, just put your distributor in the LT-1 and leave everything else alone. Your engine accesories need to get moved around abit, but it isn't all that much work. You could also get all the brackets and belt from an original LT1 car. The LT1 cars AC compressors is on the drivers side and the 86 is on girlfriends side. It really depends on what you want to do. I needed to make room for a turbo, so all my accessories went to the passengers side. Hope this helps.

machining a hole for a distrib on an LT1 intake sounds kinda half-assed
(i know it can be done, ive seen it done) unless you are carbing your LT1 that is.......
i'd say plan on some wire splicing to get your digi dash working....i dont think it will be too bad though
best thing to do would be get the schematics for say a 92 LT1 and an 86 and plan out your approach that way.....this is the method i have used in the past

The opti spark is what is half-assed. Hacking into your harness unnecessarily could also be considered "half-assed". To each his own, I chose the "half-assed" way on my car. Good luck!!!!!
yeah, it was half assed cuz thats the way GEN 1 motors were designed
to make my point short and sweet, in my opinion there is a fine line between hot rodding and jerry rigging
dont like my opinion? no sweat, we just shake hands and be on our merry ways
