Default Getting in and out of a C4 with the dreaded back surgery

As some of you may know, getting older can be tough. You lose a little flexibility and get stiff in all the wrong places These are not exactly traits that are condusive to getting in and out of a C4, but add back surgery to the mix and...........yeowie!!!!

Well, I'm just now 3 weeks into the post op recovery and actually feeling great, so I thought I'd go for a little spin........or at least try. Viola!!!!!! It was a piece of cake I don't know if I just got lucky or what, but I'm definately not one to look a gift horse in the mouth..........I'll take it!!!!!!!!! I'm back in the saddle again!!

You are fortunate. Maybe it is time to make the move to a C5 though (flame suit on) as they are easier to ingress/egress.

That's great! About 10 years ago I ruptured a disc and had the related surgery. It was several years before I was pretty much pain free. I still have to be careful, I suggest you do the same. One of the reasons I purchased a corvette now is I was afraid if I waited I might have more back problems in the future and never be able to get in one. Glad you healed up so fast!

That's great news!! Take care of that back. I've been there too. I'd go out to the garage, that was a great effort in itself, and just stare at the vette, wondering if I'd ever get in again. Before, I could jumped in and out. Now, I put it on and take it off

I'd rather sit in a Corvette seat than just about anything else. If anything it's better for your back.

Glad you are on your way to a speedy recovery. Good to see that there is more than one old fart hanging out on the Forum.
Hey Jackdaroofer , that includes you too.

Glad to hear you are recovering so quickly. I'm also a member of the "L3,L4" surgery club. Being 55 years old, 6ft. 4 inches tall, and fusion surgery, I use the "roll in and roll out" method on my '87 coupe. I refuse to give in to the pain!! Once I'm in the seat, its fairly comfortable.
