LT2 and LT3 are infact other RPO codes used by GM for other things. im not sure if they are engine RPOs but they were used thats why they went straight to the LT4 and LT5. someone brought this up in another thread a while go. sorry i cant help more.

Less torque? L98=350 LT1= 340. A difference of 10lbs!!!!
On the other hand, I'm sure that a bright guy like you has enough Calculus to figure the area under the torque curve and understand why this is significant as opposed to peak numbers.

Looks OK front-to-back, but the installed height is probably a bit much without some sort of riser hood.
I think we may have a problem with the tranny. I could fab an adapter, but I don't think the ZF would last long.

The LT1 has a flat torque curve from 1000-5500 RPM. L98 doesn't.

With all due respect, you will want to check your specs. An LT1 loses about 50 ft./lbs. from 4500 to 5500. It is, however, flat to 4500.
You can IM me if you want to know what's under the hood of my '91, which will make this discussion all the more ridiculous.
