Default What do you think, this car, this paint work..

I got the go ahead for some flame work on the car. I'm wondering what you all think:
Here is the car, none of the pictures show the silver well. It is BMW Titanium Silver from 2000+ models. Very bright, it has a high metallic content but the flakes are tiny.

Here is the paint (I will have them leave out the skulls though)

So what do you think??

:seeya I like them but, then I'm doing Flames on my 90 Vette if I can get some time off from work this summer! Is the same guy that did the motorcycle doing the Vette? Cause Flames are not the easiest thing to design... I've seen alot of badly designed flames in my lifetime... good luck!

What's wrong with the plain Silver?
Don't get me wrong, I love silver, the car was red. Three shades of red to be specific. But I have too much time, effort and money in this thing (engine, wheels, brakes, interior) and the result is, like you said, plain silver.

Had I bought a driver in excellent condition with only minor repairs and maintenance needs, I don't think I would consider this.

i have never been a fan of flames on cars

a buffed, single shade finish, looks the best IMO

Oh I see it now. Those are flames. At first I thought it was sperm cells swimming toward the handle bars. :D

I like the ghost flame idea as well. Either way, it will look sweet. :iagree: Regular flames wouldn't look good on that car I don't think. The car isn't curvy enough, but that's just my opinion.

Now that would look good, but there are probably only a handful of people in the country who could paint that. Plus it would cost you almost as much as the car is worth. Those flames would look great on any car.

Ghost flames on that color car would be the best way to go. It'll look great when you get near the car and won't stand out like a sore thumb. :)

Yeah, that's really what I'm after. Flames that are a shade darker than the car with a slightly more visible outline and a bit of shading to "lift" them off the car.

Scorp, the amount of cracks and putty found on the rear bumper when it was stripped, as well as the contorted impact bar it was covering, leads me to believe this car is no stranger to taking it in the rear. Besides, it's not like I'm painting it yellow :p: :jester

Edsalinas, I saw a similar offering on some C5 valve covers and it is nothing short of spectacular. I don't want to even venture to think what a paint job like that costs. I would bet the car pictured has a 5 digit paint job, somewhere in teens of thousands.

BTW, I appreciate your opinions and ideas everyone. I think I'm going to have Kurz Motorsports in Gaithersburg, MD do it. http://www.kurzmotorsportspaint.com/RaceCarPics.htm
