So confused, sell it or not?
Last night I was at a car show and came across a car I have wanted for a very long time, a 1971 Camaro SS. It has a 454ci motor out of a '74 pickup that has been completely rebuilt. 500 miles on the new motor, 4 speed. Silver with black stripes, new exhaust, close to 500hp, 2.43 rear end gear. The car is in near perfect condition, it is just absolutely beautiful. :smiliedrool:
Then there is my Vette, I love my Vette!! I haven't done a ton of work to it, just the mods in my sig, but it was a car I had wanted for a long time too, and then I got it. It has the creature comforts that the Camaro doesn't have, but the Camaro doesn't have to go through emissions.... I am so lost...
Can anyone tell me a reason to get one or keep one? I have no idea what to do.

If/when you do find one you HAVE to have, keep the Vette, and have the best of both worlds.. Just don't, PLEASE don't, grow a mullet  (as a previous Camaro owner, I HAD to do that!!)

If you really want it, I say get the Camaro. Keep in mind though, it isn't original. (especially when you negotiate the price!) But It sounds like a great BB hotrod to mod the $#%! out of. And it would look really good next to your dad's vette:cool:
You can always get another C4 if you change your mind later, there is a lot of them out there.

S***. I dunno what to tell ya. I see your dillema. I'm like the worst choice maker cuz I look at every little detail obsessively in all my options. It would drive me insane. Man I'd say go with the camaro cuz of what's under the hood, but then again.......it'll never be a vette. Just like ummm try to get the 454 and drop it in the vette:D When it's time for emissions...drop a PoS under the hood and when ya pass.....drop the big block right back in. If only s*** was that ez right? Well I dunno what in the hell I'd do. If I couldn't afford both, I'd probably keep the vette and steal the maro....................hey atleast I'm being honest. :yesnod:

Well, you must consider that you will always have a large selections of C4s at all price levels, how often will the right 71 camaro come around. But its all about what you like I would have to say 71 isnt my favorite year for the camaro and the C4 is always in style. But I can relate I love the 63 impalas and now that i have one if had had to let a car go it would be a tuff decision. :chevy

It depends on how you plan to use the car. If your vette is a daily driver, the Camaro is not a substitute. But if you only use the vette for cruises and pleaseure rides than I would say sell it (if you must) and get the Camaro. You can always find another C4 when you either get tired of the Camaro or can afford both.

I would keep the vette, I love the 90 body style with the 6speed trans and updated dash.
I would probably rather have your car then my Ruby -- If you plan on selling let me know I may have to take a serious look.

Keep the Corvette! 500hp with a 74 motor, that is got to eat gas and at today's prices, especially if this is a daily car. :banghead:
You say you got 3 jobs you might want another for that car for the gas. You won't have time for the car with school and jobs. You got plenty of time for a car like that as a second or third car! Good luck with your decision.

Hey Stephen,,
One of my first Hot cars was a 70 1/2 Z/28,,, what a car, it had the Lt-1 370hp,,, it was hugger orange, with black racing stripes..... I kick myself in the butt for getting rid of that,,, I sold it and bought a 73 T/A 455SD 4 speed car,,wimbleton white, blue stipe over the top,
I loved both of these cars,,, but hands down,,, my 90 vette is a much better car,,, And I believe that it will out run either of them. I am going to start looking for another one,,, when i get back from Japan.....
Do what your heart says.......

keep the vette. wait till its paid for and another camaro will come around. Dont be one of the many people who had a nice car when they were growing up and then sold it only to kick themselves in the butt later in life and regret it.

At this time in your life I would keep the vette. The vette is cool and a nice ride plus a pretty dependable and economical daily driver. Even though the camaro sounds very sweet....it will need wrenching more often than the vette and be a hog on the gas. :)
