Default Seat Opinions

I am looking to have my seats redone. They are red sports. My delima is the leather in Mid American $799.99+tools & time. I have found a shop that does awsome work and wll do a custom job and lettering logo turn key for $1,000.00. I am realy not concerned about it being totaly original. would like some thoughts from the group here.

I'd go with the custom seats if the quality is good. Have you personally seen any of the work they do? I've been kicking around having my seats redone and have them custom. Don't know how I would do it yet... If you do it, post pics!

The guys work is amazing he has a 53 Buick that he has as a daily driver that is a show stopper. He told me he would add 1/4 inch more padding and pleat the center sections top and bottom diag for coolness plus add a little more thickness under the the end of seat area for extra support under the knees.
Put the chevy emblem :chevy in whiteon the head rest put Corvette in bold like on the bumper under it :D

Sounds sweet!!
Only thing to be careful about is adding padding to the bottom section of the seats. I would have him put a piece of the padding where it would be going and sit in the seat and make sure you aren't hitting the top. I put on a set of Okole seat covers (maybe 1/8" to 1/4" in thickness) and it felt like I lost 1" of headroom. Thankfully, I have power seats and was able to lower the seats enough that it didn't bother me as much. If you get these done, we definitely want picts!!

Thanks for the tip I will test fit before he covers them. I am 5'8" and I very seldom drive with the top up. I need to figure out how to post pics. the seats are the last piece of the puzzle and I think I will be finiched cosmetically. Then on to brake upgrades and such :jester

I'm 5'9" and that little bit does change the way you see out the front window.

I know what you mean about the upgrades....still have a lot including the addition of C5 front brakes to my 93. I have 4 shelves of parts that will eventually find their way onto the car! Now how can I stop time to be able to get all those projects completed!!!!! :jester

DO NOT buy the sport covers from MAD, Ecklers, Corvette Central, etc...

They are all made by the same company are the foam is junk! I went through two sets (at my shipping charge of course) and eventually went custom.

Save yourself the anguish and get yourself a set of customs...
