Stop hatin....it is a step in the right direction for Ford and hopefully the kick in the pants GM needs to get off it's butt and build a better Vette.
If the C6 isn't significantly more reliable with better build quality my next sports car will not be a Vette :mad

Re: I love how the NEW Mustang GT (Bodhi)
The '05 Mustang is the first I have liked since the original series. They will have some great potential if they stick to their concept. I always hated their terrible instrumentation and shifter location, so hopefully that will change.

Re: I love how the NEW Mustang GT (ninetyfivevette)
Just compare hp numbers. I have 230 and a new Nissan minivan has 240. So it's faster. It's just that simple. :smash:

Is still slower then my 92 LT1 Vette.
A more worthy opponent would be the Ford GT.
...and it will kick our butts.
Corvette...still the American dream.

There isn't a Japanese "sports car" that will hang with the Corvette.
Curious as to why you bought a Corvette in the 1st place?

I love the new Mustang. I can't wait to see the real deal, in person (as opposed to the show cars).

Any way you cut it, the Corvette is the only game in town if you want performance that you don't need to take out a second in order to buy. The "reliability (?!)/build quality" is the compromise...and life is one big compromise.
I may be missing an obvious choice here....what car are you thinking of for your next sports car that compares with your Corvette? Seriously.

I wouldn't go so far until you see somebody who can drive actually drive one. So it weighs ~200lbs heavier. Big deal What if there was a light driver in the stang who only had 1/2 tank of gas compared to a heavier one of us in a full tank of gas vette? You've already equalized the weight right there. Now you look at it and see the stangs power comes on at a higher RPM than the vette, but with lower torque output. This is going to come down to driver skill for a relatively stock LT1. :yesnod:
