That sounds good. I would get it for between $ 8,000 ~ $12,000 depending on the condition.

How high we talking on the mileage? Is it early or late 86, makes a difference on iron or aluminum heads. Some things to look for on those, especially with the high mileage is the intake gasket tends to leak, the digital dash will start flickering(easy fix if you know how to solder though), door panels come loose from top of the door (service bulliten on that), also if you feel a vibration when the air is on it needs a bracket that was added later (service bulliten on that too), make sure the lights work properly cause the gears have a tendancy to strip out (easy fix though), thats all I can think of for now. Also just a warning if you have problems with it the electronics in them are a nightmare IMO.
The price really depends on the mileage but I'd say since it is a 6-speed under warranty anywhere from $6-8000. Really hard to say though because of the mileage thing. I've seen some in decent shape with 120K+ going for $5k.
BTW I love the color on your '74. One of these days I'll have a stingray vert.

Just for the principle of the matter I might try to get it to an even $5000 or so, but if you can't I'd say that it is still a good deal. If you spend the money to rework the motor you prob. won't make anything off of it but I get the impression that is not your purpose. Good luck.

You can swap out a richmond 6-speed with a little modification. There have been a few people on the forum who have done it.

I have a late model 1986 corvette at my dealership with 74k. Paint is excellent, interior has no cracks. Comes with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty. And where asking 10,900. If the car has over 100k. 5 grand. I dont buy those if they have over 100k, my lenders wont finance them. Make sure to have someone that knows corvettes check it out for you. :)

I wouldnt be offering them a whole lot of money for that, not because of the 6speed but because of the 86's characteristics engine-wise, its probably the last one youd want unless we're talking a low-speed autox car for those tight courses. If the interior leather is good and weatherstrip is good, that adds a couple thousand, but she's still old.
Id be looking into 89+ if you want handling and M6.

Unless you have a dealer licence. That allows you to go to a action. Or that you buy corvettes everyday. Then you dont know what a car is worth. The prices on vettes, and other cars change every action. Blue book is a guide line for lenders. But most lenders use C.P.I book. Much more accurate. excellent book for 1986 coupe is 12100 good is 7850 fair is 4550. There is no adds. :)
