Has anyone clear coated their polished rims?
I bought some ZR-1 polished wheels but they are not clear coated. I was thinking of doing it myself( I've got all the painting equipment) Has anyone done this themselves? :chevy

I got polished because I read on this forum that the chrome would flake off. I guess I can just polish them when I wash the car and maybe put a coat of wax on them. :yesnod:

I think you'll find a good polishing with Mother's once or twice a year is all you'll need. I've read on here that Liquid Glass keeps them looking good longer but I haven't tried it myself.

I had both. I had a set of 84s that i cleared they looked good but their more fragile. I had a set of 1990 wheels that were poslished and bare. They looked even better and held up good but every wash you need to polish them to keep the chrome look.

I have the same wheels, polished, not coated. You can make the polished wheels look better than chrome with some elbow grease. The clear coat can yellow over time, and if you scratch coated wheels it is hard to rub out.
