Default Should I race a porsche???

Theres a kid at my school, he has an old 1982 Porsche 928 (I think 928)?

It is front engine, rwd.
Has a Rounded rear end.
Front lights are round and sit flush with the hood.

Its a nasty gold/beigh color, supposed to be Platinum....lol???

Anyways, he started alot of rumors how he could smoke my vette anywhere!
I found out that it is not the rarer model of the car, its the base car!
No mods to the porshe, except a set of "Smitty's" glasspak mufflers (sounds like poopie) RICE RICE RICE!!!

I approached him and told him to meet me at the local strip...He stuttered out ...uhh, Im not sure if Ican. No, uhhhh, I wont race you in a stright line, wouldnt be fair to you...

Im standin there...OMFG..your fulla crap...ok so lets go through "KINGS RIDGE" its a long twisty road, lots of blind corners, and freshly paved!
His Girlfriend spoke up, I only like men that drive PORCHES!! I said listed, Im sure you do, but I dont see any man around here....lol just this kid who talks alot of ****. She gave me a evil smirk ( I felt accomplished) He sort of backed down a little, then left saying CORVETTES SUCK, AINT NO WAY YOU COULD EVER BEAT ME AT ANYTHING!

Should I:
A: Key his car....
B: Have hit taken out on him...
C. Convince hi mto race...
D. All of the above!

You don't have to do ANYTHING.
Talk is cheap.
You have the perfect response to any smack from this kid; you've already said you'd run him at the track. That's where the pros do their work, not on the street.
Any excuses he has now will be obvious....

Corvettes are always the biggest target 'cause they are so cool.
(much cooler than a 928...)

82 928's had 4.7l 230bhp / 263ft/lb , they run 0-60 in 7+ secs and manage on average a 15.5 sec 1/4. Not only would you leave him for dead, you'd probably do more MPG in the process.. :lolg:

87> 928 S4's on the other hand would give you a run for your money @ 320bhp (you should beat one on take off, but it'll catch you once it starts revving)

[edit]
Anyone who thinks a 928 is better looking than a Vette really needs to be taken out to pasture and shot!

Ewwww....

see, I dont want to race him but I know for a fact he would make up some excuse...Thinks hes the big man on campus cause hes got the only Porshe.
What he doesnt know, is that next year, when he is a BIG SENIOR, there will be a 2002 Viper, and a $150,000 Ferrari both driven by Juniors, keeping the peace among speed freaks! Right now theres only 2 vettes on campus..Me, and a Yellow 94 (which isnt going to be around for at least a month). Whats funny is that its just understood among Id say 85% of the students & Teachers that I have the fastest car at school. No one asks to race me, closest thing to me is the 94, its ragged out in a big way..!
The other 15% are hardcore RICE Fans, or dont care one way or another...

What really bugs the crap out of me in People that come up to you, "MAn Your car sux, you drive like an old lady. I could smoke you!!!" And you ask them what they drive and they kind of look down and say "Well....I dont driver yet...but " And I say sternly..LISTED KID, COME TALK TO ME WHEN YOU BRING SOMETHING TO THE TABLE!! :mad :reddevil :mad :reddevil :mad :reddevil :mad :reddevil :mad :reddevil :mad

82 928 stock should be about 8 sec. 0-60 and high 14's/low 15's on the 1/4 (depending on driver ability). You should smoke him at the track. :auto: :auto:

PS - Yay!!! 100 posts (finally)

What really set me off today was that he insulted my Z51 Suspension. He said "I wont race you in a straight line, but Ill take in the turns" I said not on its best day! He says "What are gonna do?? Catch me with your C-51 Wheel Package?" I said its z51 *******!!. ANd its not just wheels..

"He said it didnt matter, that his 928 could kill me in the turns.!"

His wheels are so skinny, like his tires!!!
There like P225/55/VR16's. lol skinny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take him to an autocross and see what happens, remember, driving and handling is more than just the car, it's the driver as well.

Just remember, no street race stories here.

Every month the Emerald Cost Corvette Club has an autocross/ drivers course at Bronson Field on old Highway 98. I run there routinely its only 15 bucks for as much time on the track that your car can handle but you have to be able to pass tech. They have computerized monitering of start and stop with and record of each lap time so you have definate paper results. Tell him to put up or shut the hell up. and remember kid there is always someone faster!

Just put the word out at school that you are calling him out. Lay out when you will meet him at the track and make sure A LOT of people know about the grudge match.

Then YOU show up on time..with as many people as possible from your school. If he shows...the race is on. If he dosen't 'NUFF SAID :boxing

I am just trying to envision a high school where kids are driving vettes, porches, vipers, and ferraris??

When I was in high school, I was the bad azz with a 350 in a 77 Nova and my buddy was the "rich kid" because he had a 76 Vette.

I just love the looks of those old egg porsche 928. If nothing else they were different...

Some day I'll get one. And lose to just about every vette out there.

I wish summer jobs paid like that when I was in school! Not many exotic cars getting restored for $3/hour in 1985.

I Remember when I was a high school punk....talked a lot of poopie that I had no idea about. He is scared now because he may have to put his money where is mouth is. I agree on the above post...call him out and let everyone know about it...make sure everyone knows to be there AT YOUR LOCAL TRACK. Keep it off the street.
I think it may be safer than a fist fight
And yes...keep up with your studies1
