Check out the waterpump. Has it been replaced? If not, it is going to start peeing soon. You don't want that on an LT1. It will short out the optispark (main weak point on the LT1-LT4 motors). Check your normal areas, inside front and rear bumpers to make sure the car hasn't been in a wreck. Have the dealer run a CarFax report on the car for you. See if they would be willing to put the car up on a lift so you can see under it. Have them do it then, not later. If they want to do it later, that gives them time to clean any leaks the car may have off. Does it have any service records? See if that dealership has done any service to the vehicle in the past. They can check with the VIN. The biggest thing you want to check is the waterpump. After that, check the intake gasket. They have a tendency of leaking and are expensive labor wise to replace. Do all the normal checks too. Check all the power equipment. Check all the lights, high beams, etc. When you are on your road test, keep the radio off. If the salesperson turns it on, turn it back off. You want to be able to hear what is going on with the car. Take a look at the sides of the car. Does the paint match on all body panels? Check the gaps between all the body panels, make sure they look even. And last of all...good luck!

I hope it turns out alright for you :) I assume you're adding this on to the stable and not ditching the one you got. Is it for the wife? Anniversary coming up??

Anyway, I love Polo Green. Good Luck

Also check back of engine block for evidence of the intake oil leak still being active. Would have some fresh oil film on rear of engine. Common issue, easy fix. Take a peak into the radiator cavity and look at the front of radiator to see how much junk is built up. There is a slot on the passenger of the radiator cover that you can look through-- flashlight handy here. If it is an auto trans car try to if regular maintenance was followed on the tranny. The 4L60E will start getting flakey around that mileage if it has never had a fluid change etc. On the intake air duct (rubber accordian air bridge): check that the duct is properly attached on bottom to the air cleaner and to the throttle body. Very common for people to botch putting it oin the right way and curl the lip of duct up or otherwise scrunch it such that it does not seal and thus unfilter air gets in and worse unmetered air if the loss of seal is at the throttle body end of it. Realize that if the spark plug wires and plugs are original you'll likely want to change them.

Coupe or convrt? The price is average. In a year that that 73k miles will be 83k miles. If you buy it get the warranty. Its a couple of hundred more but worth it. LT-1's are great cars but the resale is terrible. If this is your 1st Corvette get a L-98 instead.

Grab the steering wheel and attempt to move it around at each position of the clock. Ensure it doesn't move around. They are prone to failure.

Listen to each speaker individually to make sure it isn't blown. Deduct money if found bad. Take a CD along to test the stereo unit.

Let it get up to operating temp first and then stand on the throttle from a stop and then again from a rolling 40mph start. Should be zero hesitation and tranny kickdown should work perfect.

Check climate control system if equipped.

Feel for brake pulses during braking.

Listen for odd noises in the rear area.

Good luck....
