1989 Corvette Challenge Cars
I have tried to search the archives and have found very little information on these cars. Does anybody have any information on these cars? If so, I would greatly appreciate your sharing with me. i.e. production numbers, options, etc.

Welcom to the forum.
I am not familiar with them, but hopefully someone here can help you out.

Re: 1989 Corvette Challenge Cars (Widowmaker5pt7)
Welcome :)
Quoted from the corvetteactioncenter.com model center...
"Fifty six, street legal Corvette Challenge cars were built for the 1988 SCCA Corvette Challenge race series. Fifty cars were sent to Protofab in Wixom, MI for racing gear installation. The engines were specially built at the Flint, MI engine plant, sealed and shipped to the Bowling Green, KY Corvette facility for regular assembly"
This continued into 1989 and then the program and designation changed in 1990 to the "World Challenge" cars
They have lightweight Dymag whells, special emblems and exhaust (generally) and current prices are in the upper 30's to 40k++
Not all Challenge cars were converted for track use - some still have spare engines sealed in storage.
At Corvettes @ Carlisle, you generally see 5 or 6 of these machines :)

Re: 1989 Corvette Challenge Cars (Widowmaker5pt7)
Thank you for the nice welcome. I have been reading this forum for awhile, just now decided to join. What I have come across is an '89 Corvette Challenge car. It has the badges on front and back, says it on the steering wheel, etc. It has 6-spd, Adjustable suspension, and the Dana-44. But it is in stcok body. It does not have the different wheels or paint. Can anybody tell me about what this could be?
