Difference in 1996 C4 from the 1995 C4?
I sold my vette last year and will be in the market for another one in a couple months. I'm interested in the 1996 but might consider the 1995 if I knew that they were identical in technical features. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks in advance. Also, after this post I'll change my avatar since I no longer have that great car :cry

The only differences I can think of off the top of my head are that in 96 they went to ODB-II diagnostics (not sure if this helps mechanics or not) and you'll get the quicker LT4 with a manual transmission.

After a '96 LT4 CE, the only '95 that will make you happy is a ZR1. Seriously though, my vette and my wife's vette (see sig below) share all of the same technical features except the obvious (i.e. drive train, suspension, and color). We (she) had the '95 first. We were gonna buy a C5 during the recent GMAC 0-60 promo (0% for 60 months), however I really love C4's!!! We were lucky to find the '96 in pristine condition with only 8,000 miles. Picked it up a few weeks ago from the original owner (I've been meaning to post the story with pics, and will get around to it someday). Although the cars are virtually identical, I definitely prefer the LT4.
EDIT- Oh yeah ODB-II and Dexcool, anything else? Our horn tones are different - really!

The big news was the LT4 engine, but from a technical standpoint, the ECM programming was improved to include misfire detection. This little boost increased fuel economy and also reduced wear and tear on the engine.

Speaking of dexcool I just flushed my system 3 times and put the green stuff in.. I used to run dexcool and it came stock but eveytime I did a coolant change a week later it was brown again.. So I did some serious flushing, pushing water through the knock sensors and ran cleaner a few times through it and back to green.. there is a class action lawsuit being filed against GM for the Dexcool..
