Some Vette owners should sell their car!
Today I was in the first left hand turn lane, and I see a polo green vette in the other lane up ahead. I craw up ahead and wave and have a huge smile. He looks at me with the most disgusted, mean face I had ever seen.
Didn't wave back, or anything.
He was about 60 years old. I guess he didn't like the fact I am 20 with a car just as good as his. :mad :nonod: :nonod:

Marty I gotta agree and I'm pretty close to that age.
Just keep on savin' the wave.
Oh BTW, no constipation doesn't necessarily come with age, at least not yet anyhow. :jester

I always seem to see the same type of Vette drivers, and most don't wave..
A. The Waver: 20-40, love their car, always wave, drive them a great deal
B. The Sometime Waver: love the car, usually wave, drive on weekends
C. The Never Waver: 40-60, trailer queen, very low miles, can't believe younger people are allowed to have the car
D. The Oblivious: Just a car, No idea the hobby had waving...

I'm 60 years old and I waive at all vette owners. The only people that don't return the wave are some with new C5's. It doesn't bother me I just assume they just "don't get it".

Old has nothing to do with it. Us old timers know more about the wave that anyone. Replace old with dumb and this can happen at any age. :skep:

BTW: I've been getting so many waves. Just went on a 40 minute cruise and got 3 waves, all from c5's :)
I passed a c4 but his windows were so dark i couldn't tell.
Everyone has been waving lately.

Re: Some Vette owners should sell their car! (Marty McFly)
And maybe some guys need to quit worrying about what other Vette owners do, and how they act, and drive their own car. I've met other Vettes on the road (usually young drivers), and they guy is having a friggin aneurysm trying to wave at me. Good Lord, it looks ridiculous. A flick of the fingers is usually all it's worh in response from me. It doesn't make a guy a jerk, just because he doesn't respond to you in the way you think he should. It's possible that he had other, and much more important things than you on his mind.
A lot of you younger guys seem to think its "cool" or funny to shove it in an older person's face that you have just as nice of a car that he does. Well, kudos for you. It's nice that your mommy and daddy think that much of y'all that they would shell out that kind of cash for you. Alot of us "older" guys have had other responsibilites in our lives to take care of before we could think about our own wants ie: mortgages, taking care of a family, and raising our kids, and everything else that comes with being a responsible adult. Think about that next time you puff up your chest when you compare your Vette to some "old guy's" Vette. He probably appreciates his car a hell of a lot more than you do yours, because he had to work his entire life, to get the same car that you basicly had handed to you.

I didn't say all old people act like this. I just said he did. Almost all older vette owners have treated me great, this guy was an exception.

I'm glad you know about my life. How i attained my car and everything.
Did it not occur to you that I bought my car with my own money, that I worked for? Did it not occur to you that I am in college, and also in army officer training (which pays, although little)?
Maybe next time you "puff up your chest" you won't make assumptions that make you look bad.
And if large waves **** you off, sell the car... :seeya

Re: Some Vette owners should sell their car! (Marty McFly)
ive had the same problem in my town, about half the people wave and the others don't! mabye it is the age thing about us young guns around 20-30 owning a vette that really bites em' hard...i still wave out of being friendly and it is somewhat of a unformed club we are all in too. kindof kool!
