I try to keep mine clean but its impossible to keep on top of it without driving it. (grrr... dark colors in polen season) If I had it do over again, I would have bought a silver or copper.

Default are you a WAXER?

Hmmm

I'd have to say I am NOT. I drove my vette when I first got it, DAILY. I still do with a few exceptions. SNOW and if I know it's clean, the weather isn't too good and I don't feel like dirtying it, I'll drive something else(depends on my mood). BUT, if I am caught in the rain or it's threatening rain, don't think for a second I won't take the car out.

Waxing does take off paint, I try to minimize the waxings if possible. I think Washing is good after every wash, and I understand that you probably wax because you don't want waterspots.

I like to use a leaf blower on mine after washings and then I wax every couple of months.

I'm not quite that fanatic (not that it's a bad thing  ) but I do clean my car while waiting for the gates to open at Raceway Park. But she runs well enough that I don't take too much heat about it.

I don't know if waxing removes paint though polish does remove oxidized paint of course.

It's likely best to wash & dry frequently and use a good polish & wax about 4 times a year. I use a local power wash with the control set on "wax" for the wash procedure; then I just towel dry for a nice shine.

My thing is dusting & cleaning under the hood frequently as I often have the hood open at the strip and like to show off that TPI.

I get some grief from my buddies....I put an A/C unit and TV in my 2 car detached garage.....I will spend an evening detailing the cars....they think I am insane  I tell them that if they wax their cars outside when it is 90 that is their stupidity.

However....waxing every time you wash is a waste...unless you wash 4 times a year or something.

Now....switch to Zaino and join our cult.....then you will be a Zainoer....not a waxer (Zaino is NOT wax!)

Wax off....Zaino on....grasshopper

:iagree: I wax it when it needs it. And after I wash it, if I want to get rid of excess water spots (cause I dont have a leaf blower) I use Speed Shine. If I somehow get it real dirty, then I'll give it the works. Otherwise, it's like above, dust it off before I take it out and touch it up after I get back. :yesnod:

I don't drive it when it rains but I clean it with a Cal. Duster before each use and wash and wax regularly.

I try to wash mine after every time I drive it. It gets waxed every weekend. Detailing my cars has become therapy for me, it calms me down after a long week of stress. But my nieghbors still think I'm wacked out in the brain!!

If your removing paint when you wax, then you're doing wrong. :nonod: Now polishing, is another matter.
