Well, turns out a friend of mine is selling his GS and wants to return it to stock. He's going to call me later and we are going to discuss all the stuff on his car. He ran 10.90's on Nitrous with this car, 12.20's on motor.

I think track prep has a lot to do with it as well. I can run 12.7's @111 all day long at Bradenton, but can't get into the 12's at Bithlo even with 112 mph trap speeds. I bet if you ran at Englishtown where Mojo and Mackey run, you would be in the 12's all day long. Just my 2 cents...

Partick, your car is freaking awsome. Who cares if it runs 12's or 13's. Z06's are hot now, but when the C6 version comes out where will they be? Pretty soon low 12's won't be fast enough. If you want a track car, buy a 84, throw a big block into it and run 10s all day long, it will still be cheaper then picking up a Z06. In my opinion, GS's are just way too cool to be worried about half a freaking second on the track. Enjoy the car for what it CAN do.

My measly old L98 does 13.049 EVERYTIME, no lie! No matter what I do, it always comes up 13.045-049, I feel like I will never get a 12 either!
I think in your case it could be a lot of things. How long since last tune, its pretty hot outside (60ft times and trap speeds suffer). Do you have catalytics in it? Maybe its getting old and clogged. Bad batch of fuel, bad batch of rubber, etc. Dont sweat it, after all, youre just a Dolt right????? :jester :jester LOL Just Kidding!

You're lucky. The one time I went to the strip, I couldn't run because some wise guy at tech inspection said; " We've had cars like that one before and that convertible will break into the 13's the first time out. No rollbar-- No run." It's a b***h when other guys cars dictate whether you run or not. I do understand that safety is the first priorty, but at least see if my car is that fast once before banning my running. (Probably wouldn't be with the GSC runflats)

My daughter just ran the two mile in AA sectionals at Urbana, Il. today at 12:01. She won first and goes to state. She's been trying to get into the sub 12's. Sounds like the two of you have the same problem. The GS is a beautiful car take her for what she is. A beautiful car that goes faster than most people can dream.

Patrick I did not see a comparison of MPH in the two LT4's.
My old C4 trapped about 106 and only could manage 13.20s with like 1.88 60's.
When you lowered you psi to 18 you should have increased your launch to match and you likely didn't and that is why the slower 60'. If you are getting 1.84 60s at higher pressure I'd stick with that.
No as to why you got odd ball ETs you said you got 20 runs. I would have to say your temps varied a lot in the runs and coincidentally you might have been hot lapping when going up in pressure and the car giving up at the top end.
Another thing to look at is how aggressive you shifted. I know you have 150+ runs under your belt but do you think you might have shifted differently when you felt a bad launch? I know I can feel the difference between a 1.8 and 2.0 and that might make me angry enough to bang the gears harder.
In either case, good luck with the car or the any other you get.
