Remove the frisbee???
hey guys, I noticed that some of you with the late model L98's have removed the frisbee and some have not, just wondering if it's worth doing on the 89?
any negative effects go along with removing it?
:flag From Canada but I support your troops, hope there back soon. :chevy

Re: Remove the frisbee??? (Vettski)
Hey, I'm just down from you on Interstate 29 in Sioux Falls, SD.
Anyway, I took mine off when I replaced my waterpump on my 89. They claim the motor spins up a bit quicker. If nothing else it cleans up the front of the motor. No harm in taking it off, it's makes a good door stop.

Re: Remove the frisbee??? (BioRxOkc@aol.com)
Could someone please tell me what "the frisbee" is? There's a pic of my L98 at http://jsa007.tripod.com so maybe someone could point it out to me? And why would I want to remove it? Is it some sort of safety equip.?
Thanks, and sorry about the hijack

Check that topic with a pic of the early "frisbee" on my site; you'll note that I got the word from "Mr Corvette", Gordon Killebrew himself at Carlisle, PA.
It only came on '88-'91 L98s to dampen the effect of the A/C compressor kicking on/off after the compressor and brackets were changed from the '87 style.
As it turns out it wasn't realy necessary and robs about 10hp from your engine.

Hey!
Here's the address of a site someone posted about the frisbee removal(http://www.geocities.com/jgkov/Frisbee.html). I haven't done it on mine yet. The bolts are really tight. Apparently liquid wrench helps. I might try it this weekend. Good luck.
