Re: Corvette ownership is already changing me (Jim85IROC)
Jim, I'm an F body guy too but I've been converted. I've owned 1 69 firebird 400, an 87 fireturd with the 2.8v6, a 94 trans am a4, a 95 trans am a4(my favorite of all of em) and a 99 m6 trans am. I actually traded my 90 vette for the 99 trans am. 2 weeks later I was sick. I couldnt believe how much I missed the vette, even though I was in an allmighty LS1 I still missed my 'lowly' L98. I traded the trans am away, tracked down my 90 and bought it back. I finally traded it away last December for my LT4 and while I still miss it, I love my 96 too much to part with it. I would love to have another F body, but not at the expense of losing my vette. It'll grow on you, trust me.

Jim85IROC, ah so that's it and all the time I thought it was the car that the chicks dig so much.... :bb
BTW, I think that you will find you enjoy driving each of your fine rides; each has it's own merrits. But once you get a good exhaust system and some other mods on the Vette it will be your favorite cruiser.
And try to get in at least one day at Corvettes at Carlisle this Aug; it's a Corvette gathering to remember.

Re: Corvette ownership is already changing me (CanadaVette)
I gave a girl a ride home tonight, and she told me that my Corvette is "cute". Of all the words in the dictionary...... sheesh....!
I guess that extra 3 inch extension still isn't enough. I think I need a C5.
 :lolg: Great thread. Enjoy :steering: the vette. Just make sure you're F-body doesn't catch you in the act.

Just keep all of the cars! How much could you possibly sell the GTA for anyway? That car has got to be worth more to you than the peanuts you will get. The car is probably very nice, as GTA's most definately are. The problem is that it is old and nobody will pay up for it. Just find a way to pull off owning all the cars if at all possible and try not to worry about the financial situation.
I end up keeping cars because of this reason and somehow it is working for me.

Re: Corvette ownership is already changing me (Jim85IROC)
once you drive a vette, you never...um...go back.
i know it doesn't rhyme, but's true.
here was my progression of cars:
16: 85 Vette (chevette)
17: 89 Astro
18: 91 Cavalier (Z24)
19-21: 93 Buick Regal (Two Tone Door)
22: 86 Vette, 02 Blazer
My goal is to own at least one vette (corvette) at all times until I die and if you think I'm ever going to drive a mini-van again...

I've only owned my Corvette for a day, and already I see myself changing. I look down on all those pathetic f-body and Mustang owners.
