What brand oil filter do you use?
I tried this over in tech but no luck ... I am sure my buddies here in General will come through foir me. TIA
What brand and/or type OIL FILTER should I be using for my C4.
I always use Mobil 1 oil. Just changed it today and put back in some fresh 5w30 (Mobil 1)
Obviously it came filled with Mobil 1 oil from the factory ... did it also come with a Mobil 1 oil filter or a delco filter.
THANKS!

I use the same oil as you do and I use the Napa Gold oil filter. My guess would be as long as the filter is approved for synthetic oil use, it shouldn't matter. I would wager that most of us change out our oil and filter way before we really need to anyway!

I believe you will get many answers from many people on this question. It it like asking "what beverage do you like best"? Each has their own reasons for their individual answer. Sooooo here is my answer and why: I like the K&N oil filter because it has superb filtration and has an anti-drain feature that will not allow the oil to drain from the main bearings. It is "dry starts" on the main bearings that cause wear. However, they cost about $12 each and well worth the price for my garage queen!

I use NAPA Gold on all my vehicles. It is made by WIX. Used to use Fram...and always had a problem with noisy tappets on start up after car had sat for a couple days.
Since switching to NAPA/Wix, no more lifter racket.

Has anyone used ACDelco's PF35? Is the extra length okay for a stock height '94 Vette??
I've used that filter for my previous '94 TransAm....

K&N Performance Gold Oil Filter. :yesnod: Here are a few of the features of this filter listed on the box: 1. Sturdy 1" wrench nut makes removal quick and easy 2. Drilled safety wire holes for racing 3. Metal leaf spring provides a positive seal between element and lid 4. Heavy-duty construction provides over 550 PSI hydrostatic burst strength 5. Resin-impregnated filter media provides maximum filtering surface for contaminant removal 6. Inner core provides extra structural support to prevent filter collapse. 7. Anti-drainback valve when needed eliminates dry starts, prevents oil from draining back into crankcase during engine shutdown 8. Rolled threads provide extra protection against stripping 9. Leak-proof double roll seam 10. Internally lubricated gasket provides positive seal while allowing easy installation and removal of filter.
And there you have it. :) I will be changing the oil and filter within the next week or so (they say Spring is due soon  ). I was unable to find Mobil 1 in the 5/30 weight, so I picked up the 10/30 weight. :steering:

Thanks for all of the input ... as always you have all been quite helpful.
I just wanted to make sure that my Chevy Dealer putting a delco filter on instead of a Mobil 1 filter was normal. I may try a K/N Oil filter sometime (unless anyone tells me a horror story) as I seem to like their air filters.
I installed a cold air "FIPK" kit for my V8 Jeep Grand Cheerokee and love it also.
THANKS AGAIN CORVETTE FORUM! (Yes I was shouting that out ... I think my neighbors heard me.
