What do you think about your glass top
I've been debating getting an acrylic targa, but I've heart they are not solar. Do they let a lot of heat in the car?
Do you like having it?

Not many benefits of having the glass top. Of course, if your car has the option for both tops, then it could be important to have. The glass top does let in lots of heat. I only use it during winter and fall. Summer and spring are solid top, just to keep as much heat out as possible. Then, the glass top makes for a less-solid feeling in the twisties. The Lexan top flexes much more than the solid top. I only use it because I can, I don't see much benefit of it. I like the look of the solid top more.

In south Florida it does little to cool the interior of the car. In July I can drive with the air on and still be sweating like crazy. I have put a blackout on it now, no sun gets through and I still have all the headroom from the glass top.:)

I like mine.I bought my car in September so I don't know about the heat issue yet.

I bought a solid top 2 years ago and I love it. The only advantage to the glass top is a bit more head room. (Tilt steering does that too ;) ) I didn't like the solar heat even though I remove the top whenever I can.

I bought it for the headroom also. Also, I had chipped my solid top, so now at least I can still drive while it gets repaired.

Replaced my glass top with a solid one about a year ago, the BEST mod I've done so far. Rattles stoped, can drive car in summer without being in a sona.
my glass top had spider web cracks, probably caused it to be weaker (louder) than normal.

Don't drive much with it on but when I do I enjoy being able to see all around.
I never noticed the heat issue, could be living north of the 49th is a factor in that :yesnod:

I have both tops. I like driving better with the glass top, but I like the looks better with the solid one. I haven't noticed much of a difference between the two as far as body flex. I end up switching between the two all the time. :yesnod:

Am I the only one ... who only has a glass top?
Should I consider buying a solid top?
If so who does everyone here recommend buying from?
TIA

Re: What do you think about your glass top (DaveFromCleveland)
I am with everybody else....I use it in the spring some, I like to be able to look out the top, but my AC just cant keep up in the summer with it on. Sitting in traffic, 100º out side....I feel like an ant under a magnifing glass.....getting ready to burst into flames... :yesnod:

I have both tops too.. Glass one is really hot at summer. And I didnt like that sun did shine through it. Getting blind of sun that shines through windshield is enought. I might try glass top again sometimes, but hard top is one that I use.
